Painting Your Home Should Be Easy. Here’s How We Make It That Way.

Our Process

What to expect when you hire Baker Brothers Paint Co.

We don’t like mystery projects. You should always know what’s happening, what’s next, and what you’re paying for.
Here’s exactly how things go from the first message to the final thank-you.

1. You Reach Out

You call, text, or email us, and we schedule a time to come walk your space. This first visit is about more than measurements—it’s about meeting face-to-face, earning your trust, and understanding what you’re hoping to change.

2. In-Home Walkthrough & Scope of Work

We walk through each room with you, talk through your goals, and:

  • Take before photos and reference pictures so we can build an accurate quote later

  • Discuss colors and sheen (we’re happy to give input, but at the end of the day it’s your taste and your home)

  • Look for things that affect the process: dark-to-light color changes, stains, repairs, new drywall, patches, or new construction

  • Outline a clear scope of work so everyone knows what’s included

From the start, we plan for a minimum of 2 coats. Some projects need 3 (for example: very light colors over dark, new drywall, stain blocking, or heavy repair areas), and we adjust the process accordingly.

We’ll also talk about timing—when we’re likely to start and roughly how long the project should take.

3. Same-Day Detailed Quote

After we leave, we review our notes and photos and put together your quote.

  • We aim to have your bid ready by the end of the day—usually within a few hours

  • You’ll typically get a text with:

    • Labor total

    • Material estimate

    • Combined total

If everything looks good to you, we move to the paperwork.

4. Contract, Bid Sheet & 50% Deposit

Once you give us the green light:

  • We prepare your official bid sheet (with material breakdown)

  • We create a written contract that outlines:

    • Scope of work

    • Price

    • Deposit amount (we operate on 50% down, 50% at completion)

    • Estimated timeline

We usually have this ready within 1–2 business days.

You review and sign the contract.
We then schedule a time to pick up the deposit in person.

When we pick up the deposit, we sign our portion of the contract confirming it’s been received. At that point:

Your project dates are locked in
We start prepping on our end

5. Pre-Job Confirmation

As your start date gets closer, we:

  • Confirm arrival time for Day 1

  • Let you know if anything changes (for example, if we can start a couple of days earlier)

  • Make sure you know what to expect on the first day—where we’ll start, what rooms we’ll be in, etc.

6. On-Site Work: Prep, Paint & Daily Cleanup

Once we start the job, our priorities are quality work, clear communication, and a livable home for you.

During the project, we:

  • Protect floors, furniture, and belongings

  • Keep our tools and supplies in a designated area, neatly and out of the way

  • Tidy up at the end of each day so your home stays as functional and convenient as possible

  • Communicate daily about:

    • What we completed that day

    • What we’ll be working on tomorrow

    • Whether we’re ahead, on-track, or adjusting the timeline

You’re never left guessing where things stand.

7. Final Day: Walkthrough, Care Instructions & Final Payment

The day before we wrap up, we email your final invoice for the remaining 50%.

On the final day, we:

  • Finish all agreed-upon work and touch-ups

  • Put furniture and items back where they belong

  • Haul away our trash and leave leftover paint neatly for you

  • Do a walkthrough with you, answering any questions and making sure you’re happy

  • Share care instructions, like:

    • How long to wait before hanging things back up

    • Dry time and cure time

    • How to gently clean or touch up painted surfaces

Once everything looks right and feels right, we collect the final payment.

8. After We Leave: Photos, Receipt & Follow-Up

Within 1–5 business days of finishing your project, you’ll receive:

  • A paid invoice/receipt

  • Before & after photos of your project

  • A thank-you message

  • A link to leave a Google review, if you’d like to share your experience

Our goal is that from first text to final email, you feel:

  • Informed

  • Respected

  • Taken care of

  • Confident you chose the right painters
