Who We Are — Josh & John Baker
We’re the Baker Brothers — Josh and John — two brothers who never thought we’d end up working side-by-side, let alone building a business together. Growing up, we fought like brothers do. But life has a funny way of working things out, and as we got older, moved out, and started building our own families and careers, we grew closer than ever.
Today, we get along great, spend time together regularly, and even have a monthly dinner tradition with our families where we take turns sharing our favorite recipes. Building this business has only strengthened that bond. We laugh a lot, challenge each other, take advice from one another, and keep each other accountable. People always say they could never work with their brother — but for us, it just works.
Two different paths, one shared purpose
I (John) spent years in the restaurant industry, working my way up to General Manager. I loved the work — building teams, creating systems, teaching people, and running a business — but deep down I knew I was building someone else’s dream. I cared about my team, but no matter how hard I worked, I couldn’t control how much people were paid or the corporate decisions that shaped their lives. As much as I loved leading, something was missing.
Josh, my older brother, had been painting for as long as I worked in restaurants. He knows the craft inside and out, and just like me, he was tired of working for people who didn’t value quality, character, or their workers. We both knew what it felt like to give your best to a business that only cared about the bottom line.
The leap of faith
We felt God nudging us toward something different — something with purpose, something that aligned with the values we were raised with. After conversations, prayer, and a lot of faith, we both realized the same thing:
We needed to build something of our own.
Something set apart.
Something God would be proud of.
We left our jobs behind, put our trust in God, and took the leap. And God has provided every step of the way.
